Freddie Bauer, PhD
Freddie Bauer, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Human Anatomy in both the College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Human Medicine. He is an instructor for various anatomy courses including Human Gross Anatomy for Pre-Health Professionals (ANTR 350), Directed Study in Human Prosection (ANTR 485/585), and Clinical Human Gross Anatomy and Palpatory Skills (OST 510).
His current research focus is analyzing undergraduate student career outcomes and exploring how to best prepare students for a variety of different career and extra-vocational challenges through course design. He is also passionate about educational research methods and is currently exploring how qualitative analysis can be blended with Q Methodology to produce comprehensive perspectives on research questions. He also publishes research on learning analytics, student experience in flipped classrooms, and mixed educational research methods. He is happy to answer questions on Q Methodology or collaborate on research projects with faculty and students alike. Anyone interested in researching together is encouraged to email him.
He graduated with his BS in Movement Science from the University of Michigan (2021) before completing his PhD in Anatomy and Physiology Education with a minor in Educational Research Methods from Indiana University (2026).
Dr. Bauer’s fun facts include that he used to competitively powerlift and play in Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments.
