Joseph R. Pernicone, DO, PhD, MS, is an associate professor in the MSU Department of Radiology, serving the Colleges of Osteopathic and Human Medicine. Dr. Pernicone received his degrees from Michigan State University: his medical degree, a PhD in Physics, and two master of science degrees in math and physics. He completed his residencies in radiology and in nuclear medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Pernicone went on to complete a computed tomography and ultrasound fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital as well as MRI fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic and the Pittsburgh Institute.  He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology as well as radiology with special competency in nuclear medicine. Dr. Pernicone is a diagnostic radiologist for MSU Health Care at McLaren Greater Lansing Outpatient Imaging Center.
